As you step to the edge of this canyon, just outside the town of White Rock, New Mexico, the Rio Grande travels along the bottom like a strand of ribbon curving and twisting its way south. There’s nothing like visiting as the first light of the sun illuminates the far canyon walls. This has been a favorite place of mine for over twenty years. This painting captures a sense of the place for me.
